| Buddhist dating does not necessarily mean one would end up marrying the other. In fact for Buddhist, marriage is a simple form of social contract. Unlike in any other religions where the union of two people in marriage is important, in Buddhist, it is not merely the case. Marriage and having a relationship is just one factor of organizing one’s life. Thus, for Buddhist, going out is just perfectly ordinary as long as it is done in the right way. Everybody date for a lot of reasons. Reasons maybe for having a partner in life, having someone as a companion, having someone as a sexual partner or any other reasons. Surely, Buddhists have also these reasons. In Buddhism, having sex is allowed even before marriage but it comes with great responsibility. It is for these reasons that for some Buddhist that having a relationship is recognizable. For Buddhist, meeting up is to nurture the right attitude towards one’s desires and to react properly. Relationship is not really to be avoided from but just a way of life. |
